Laravel Private Cloud Is Now HIPAA Compliant, and Adds Self-Hosted GitLab

Laravel Private Cloud is the enterprise version of Laravel Cloud: the same developer experience, but running on infrastructure that belongs to you alone. Since launching in January 2026 it has picked up a string of features aimed at regulated industries. Here's what it is and what changed.

What Laravel Private Cloud is

Each customer gets:

  • a dedicated Kubernetes cluster in a private AWS account and VPC, operated by Laravel
  • dedicated compute with no shared surface area with other customers
  • private networking to other AWS services
  • static outbound IPs you can give to third-party APIs for allowlisting
  • high availability across three availability zones with automatic failover

It includes the Business plan and 24/7 support. Pricing is custom; Laravel says it typically becomes cost-effective for workloads of around $2,000 a month or more.

What's new in 2026

HIPAA compliance (August)

Private Cloud is now HIPAA compliant, and healthcare teams can request a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). That joins SOC 2 Type II attestation, GDPR and PCI-DSS. Laravel says this opens Cloud to healthcare software and to university and government teams with similar requirements.

Self-hosted GitLab (23 September)

Private Cloud customers can now deploy from a GitLab instance they run themselves, not just GitLab.com:

  1. Register Laravel Cloud as an OAuth application in your GitLab instance.
  2. Enter the credentials under Settings > Integrations > Self-hosted GitLab.
  3. Cloud reads your repositories and receives push events as it does for GitLab.com.

It requires GitLab 16.4 or later. For many enterprises whose code can't leave their own infrastructure, this was the missing piece.

AWS ElastiCache (10 June)

Provision fully managed ElastiCache in Valkey or Redis OSS flavours from the Cloud dashboard, from a single-AZ node for development up to multi-AZ clusters with automatic failover. That sits alongside RDS MySQL, RDS Postgres and RDS replicas, which came to Private Cloud in March.

Build add-ons (July)

Some apps need more than PHP extensions: media libraries, monitoring agents or a headless browser for PDFs and screenshots. Private Cloud customers can now install that software into the build image as add-ons, rather than maintaining a custom Dockerfile.

Log drains (28 September)

Enterprise plans can now stream logs to their own S3 bucket in real time, useful for the audit trails regulated teams need.

Who should consider it

  • Healthcare, fintech and public-sector teams with compliance requirements
  • Companies whose security team requires single-tenant infrastructure
  • Apps that call partner APIs requiring IP allowlisting
  • Teams already spending thousands a month on shared Cloud or self-managed AWS

For everyone else, standard Laravel Cloud (SOC 2 Type II since September 2025) is usually enough.
