If you have iPhone and Alexa, but you don’t know how to connect both of them to play your favourite music from an iPhone to Amazon Echo, this article will help you.

Amazon Echo devices are smart speakers, AI-powered by Alexa service you can control it by saying, Alexa. It’s a cloud-based device connected with Wi-Fi. By connecting with an iPhone, you can interact with Alexa and play music collections from Amazon Music, Apple Music, or Spotify.

You can control the volume by saying “raise the volume” or “lower the volume” even you can control the songs by saying “play” or “pause” or “skip” ahead or the back in your playlist of the iPhone.

Steps to connect iPhone to an Amazon’s Echo with the Alexa App

 

Step 1

First, you have to download the Amazon Alexa app from iPhone App Store.

Step 2:

Tap Echo and Alexa along the top of the screen, a list of Echo and Alexa devices will be shown.

Step 3:

Tap the name of the device for pairing with the iPhone

Step 4:

Tap the Bluetooth devices in the wireless section.

Step 5:

Tap the “Pair a new device” button; a screen prompt will be shown to pair your iPhone with Amazon’s Echo device.

If it asks for “use and external speaker with Amazon Echo,” “skip” if you use Amazon Echo’s speaker. You can add the speaker later with iPhone.

Steps to connect iPhone to an Amazon’s Echo via Bluetooth

Besides Wi-Fi, you can connect Amazon Echo with iPhone via Bluetooth for playing audio from an iPhone to Echo. Disconnect the Amazon Echo from other devices to connect to your own iPhone.

Step 1:

Go to Bluetooth settings and turn on the Bluetooth.

Step 2:

Scroll down in the setting for “available devices.”

Step 3:

Place Amazon Echo near in your iPhone’s range.

Step 4:

After searching, your Echo device’s name will appear.

Step 5:

Tap on your Echo’s name and wait until Alexa confirms it.

After finishing all the steps correctly, you can now play any music, artist, or genre on an iPhone to listen to Amazon’s Echo device. You can also stream the audio music from third-party applications. 

If you want to connect the Echo and an iPhone again, you say “connect,” it will automatically connect to the Echo; this needs the Echo device to be accessible for connection and disconnect with other devices when you want to connect it to your Echo iPhone.
