What are Instagram Reels?
So, what are Instagram reels? For all those of you unaware, Instagram recently launched a new form of media in 2020, right during the pandemic. These look pretty similar to your Instagram stories but can stay up on your page for as long as possible. You can now create around 60-second-long videos by using the Instagram reels feature. You also can add songs to the reels from the licensed music available.
Step by Step Guide for Using Instagram Reels
The best part about Instagram is that it is incredibly user-friendly. The same is the case with Instagram reels. Now, let’s get into the basics of using reels.
1. Create Through Others
One basic way is to watch reels uploaded by other people. When you are watching other people’s reel content, there will be a camera icon on the top right corner of the screen. Press that, and you will be redirected to the “Create Mode.”
2. Create Through Home Page
Another way to go about it is by using the home page. Head to your main page, and swipe left to get to the camera. Now, look at the bottom of the screen and swipe till you find “Reels” at the bottom. Once you find it, stay there.
Adding Media
There are two ways that you can go about creating Instagram reels.
1. Using Recorded Videos
IF you like, you can even add recorded videos to your reels without actually filming anything live. To do this, press on the Gallery icon when in Create Mode. Now, you have the option to edit the duration of the clip. You can also add stickers or text to this video clip. Once you’re done editing, press the Upload button to keep adding clips until you reach the 60-second mark.
2. Filming Live Videos
The next option is to film videos live, similar to how you would do for stories. Go in Create Mode, swipe for the Reels mode, and then film. Press and hold on to the icon in the centre and record yourself for your reel.
3. Combination
You can also create a combination of live videos and prerecorded ones.
