Wird Pinterest bis 2030 mehr wert sein als die Meta-Plattformen?

Pinterest is a great platform for showcasing your ideas and creativity, but does it have what it takes to top the throne of social media? Here’s everything you need to know about it ever being able to be worth more than meta platforms by 2030.

The Boom of 2019

In December 2019 and the months leading up, when the pandemic of COVID-19 knocked the world off its normality axis, social media stats showed a lot of peaks, especially in the use of Pinterest. People were channeling their creativity and finding ideas on the platform. These ranged from new recipes to try, room décor inspiration, garden/house revamps, etc.

Pinterest was being used a lot, and analysts predicted a huge boom in popularity during this time. Fast-forward, though, this peak was short-lived, and the social footprint of the platform began to fade away. It is safe to say it has struggled since the lockdowns and curfews being suspended worldwide.

There aren’t many people behind the platform that can do when people find even more creative freedom and versatility on other social media platforms, namely the Meta ecosystem.

Is Pinterest Capable of Taking over Meta Platforms?

The Meta ecosystem, formerly known as Facebook, is a better platform for people. There is so much to do on these platforms which Pinterest doesn’t seem to offer.

  • Facebook is a world in itself where people can socialize and find employment opportunities. It is a safe community to voice their opinions through different and like-minded groups. Additionally, it also aids business growth with Facebook Marketplace.
  • Instagram is not only a social media site where you can take pictures and share them with the world but also a source of an emerging career for creators all around the globe. The term “influencer” came to be because of Instagram.
  • WhatsApp has been around for years and is one of the most convenient means of wireless communication, no matter where you are.

There have been a lot of great additions in these social media apps to compete with other ecosystems, like the introduction of reels on Instagram and Facebook live to compete against TikTok. In contrast, Pinterest, on the other hand, hasn’t had any breakthroughs in recent years.

What does the Future Hold for Pinterest?

Pinterest did introduce a way to promote products and direct you to the shop’s web link, but that’s almost as far as it goes. To think that Pinterest can take over these emerging and highly diverse ecosystems is crazy.

Pinterest isn’t going to disappear to nothingness. However, its growth is predicted to be much less than Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta-powered platforms. On the bright side, analysts ensure that the revenue of Pinterest will increase by 24% in the next decade.

Last year, the Meta platforms collectively generated approximately $118 billion in revenue. Comparing this to the predicted $12 billion revenue of Pinterest between 2023 to 2024, it doesn’t seem like Pinterest has enough potential to take over Meta platforms.
