Auto Update for Windows Users

Well, all you will have to do is click the prompt when it appears and then simply follow the steps. It will be a free upgrade for you which will be available on October 5, 2021. You can also see if your device can be upgraded to Windows 11 with the help of Microsoft’s own PC Health Check and Windows Update.

Not All Features Will Be Available

Even though Windows 11 will be available on October 5, 2021. However, it doesn’t mean that all of its features will also be present. For instance, Microsoft has teamed up with Amazon to bring Android apps to Windows 11, but you will not be able to use the feature on the launch day. Instead, it will be available after a few months.

What are the Requirements?

Now that you know that Windows 11 will be coming out soon but what about the system requirements? Will your device support the new operating system? Well, the company stated that users would be able to get Windows 11 if their system is equipped with a 64-bit 1GHz processor, 64GB storage, a TPM 1.2 chip, and 4GB RAM. If you get the unsupported version of Windows 11, then do keep in mind that you will not be able to receive security patches or Windows Update.

You Have 4 Years!

If your PC doesn’t support Windows 11, then there is no need to worry. The company is giving your four years to consider upgrading your system. You see, they won’t be making Windows 10 obsolete just yet. In fact, the OS will still be working effectively till October 2025. However, at this time, it is not clear how many updates Microsoft will release during this period of time.

Features of Windows 11

A new operating system means new features. So, let’s have a look at what Windows 11 will have to offer for the users.

#1. A Clean Interface

Microsoft is aiming to make the interface as user-friendly as possible. It will feature a clean design and rounded corners. The OS will offer you a centered Taskbar and Start menu.

#2. Personalize Your Widgets

Widgets have been around for quite some time. Microsoft has now decided to let users personalize them! Moreover, you will now be able to gain access to them directly from the Taskbar.

#3. Android Apps

Yes, you read that right! Microsoft has collaborated with Amazon to bring you Android apps on Windows 11. You will be able to install them from the Amazon Appstore. But as stated earlier, this feature will not be available when the new OS is rolled out.

#4. Integration of Microsoft Teams

Windows 11 will have pre-installed Microsoft Teams. It will be located in the Taskbar. Therefore, it will be much easier for you to reach the app. You will be able to access the app not only from Android and Windows but also from iOS and Mac.

Conclusion

The release of Windows 11 is just around the corner. And considering it will be introducing new features like giving access to Android apps, there is no doubt that Microsoft will be changing the game with this operating system. If you are already a Windows user, then you can simply upgrade it when the OS becomes available. However, do make sure that your system supports it. If not, then you will still be able to use Windows 10 till 2025.
